When 28-year-old Andrea recently posted a picture on Instagram of her at a Greek restaurant, she received countless judgemental comments. ‘Can you even eat like this?’
Andrea, a former psychology student from Bulgaria, doesn’t have any issues when eating and insists she isn’t phased by what strangers have to say.
‘I’m told it’s “too much” or that I have a very vulgar, scandalous appearance. That I’m ugly,’ she says. ‘But I don’t pay attention to their words. I want to be different from everyone else’
Andrea began making changes to her appearance seven years ago out of a desire to have a unique look.
While Andrea is happy with her looks, she admits that her loved ones have struggled with her transformation.
‘When I walk down the street and I’m in public places, everyone always stares at me in amazement,’
‘Sometimes they comment at me loudly – there have been cases where they insult me directly to my face and call me names
‘Of course there are fans who want to take photos with me and tell me how much they like me.’
Ultimately, Andrea has one thing to say to anyone who takes issue with her appearance: ‘I’m an adult, I decide what to do with my body.'
